Augmenting streamflow with groundwater, in general, is dependent on specific local hydrologic and hydrogeologic properties.
Groundwater augmentation has been used most extensively in Great Britain, where 24 projects have been implemented since the 1970’s.
Project examples in the US are limited, but several promising applications are being implemented
